We are looking for a passionate new team member for our section STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). As such, you will be responsible for the professional and dynamic acquisition of new publication projects and products towards the further development of our Chemistry portfolio.

YOUR TASKS

 Strategic development and international alignment of our Chemistry section in close coordination with our Editorial Director Physical Sciences
 Acquisition of a publication portfolio (books, book series, journals, databases) for the section in coordination with the Editorial Director Physical Sciences
 Expansion and care of networks (publishers, authors, societies, and research institutes)
 Budget responsibility regarding publication dates and economic objectives
 Representation of the department at conferences in Germany and abroad
 Close collaboration with our editorial office, production, marketing, and sales colleagues

YOUR PROFILE

 Education You have a Master of Science degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related natural sciences. A PhD is an advantage.
 Work experience You have first practical experience in a scientific publishing house and / or you have a strong target group expertise in the field of chemistry or chemical engineering. Knowledge of the market as well as very good contacts to scientists and scientific institutions round off your profile.
 Work attitude You contribute to the development of new publishing products with your innovative ideas. Your personal working style is organized, efficient, structured, and priority-oriented.
 Technical understanding You show a good technical understanding and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with in-house systems and electronic forms of publishing. You master MS Office applications.
 Entrepreneurial spirit You like to work independently and responsibly, decide pragmatically and like to travel to conferences and meetings worldwide.
 Enthusiasm and communication You are enthusiastic about your area of responsibility, represent it professionally inwards and outwards, and keep a fresh look at the daily routine.
 Language skills Your oral and written German and English skills are business fluent.
